In this episode, we sat down with Liz Owens to talk about women’s inherent worth, and what it actually takes to believe it instead of just knowing it.
Liz is a certified coach and the founder of Haus of Worthship, a community for women who were called precocious as kids and are now over-performing adults living between two worlds: one that looks right on the outside, and one that’s clawing to get out from the inside.
Her work lives in the gap between self-awareness and actual change. The women she works with already know their stories inside and out; the work is learning to let those stories inform them without letting them run the show. Her framework, Notice-Ask-Act, gives women a practical way to catch their patterns in real time, before those patterns make the decision for them.
Liz’s own foundation wasn’t an easy one, and for years she performed her way through it, looking fine on the outside while being very much not fine underneath. The real work began when she stopped outsourcing her sense of worth and started actually interrupting the patterns she’d been narrating for years without changing. That unraveling is what her coaching is built on. She’s not teaching from a pedestal, she’s teaching from experience.
In This Episode We Cover:
- What it means to be raised “precocious,” and why it sets women up to live between two worlds
- The difference between self-awareness and actual change, and why knowing your patterns isn’t the same as changing them
- Her framework, Notice-Ask-Act, and how it helps women catch their patterns before those patterns make the decision for them, including real examples of what the “Act” step looks like in practice
- How Liz learned her own sense of worth through lived experience
- Real examples from her clients’ journeys, and the patterns she sees most often
- The personal unraveling that led her to build Haus of Worthship
- Why letting go of performance, and choosing authenticity instead, is at the center of real change
