0:20: Expression, honesty, vulnerability, and showing up fully as you are.

0:29: Hey guys, welcome back to another episode.
0:32: Wow, today’s conversation is very enlightening and different from Any of the other conversations we’ve had.
0:41: Yeah, I totally agree.
0:42: So we’re going to be introducing you to Chelsea Renee.
0:47: and in this conversation, what I loved so much is that she really spoke about how to use psychedelics, specifically mushrooms.
0:58: As a way to open up your mind and allow your creativity to flow.
1:03: It’s so easy in business to use logic and strategy and what you read in these business books as a way to create the success that you want, but she truly feels like you get the most out of these mushroom experiences by tapping into your creativity, by allowing yourself to put these things together that your logical mind would normally not do.
1:26: Chelsea is what she calls a ceremonial CEO, a visionary leader devoted to creating sacred spaces where transformation, self-leadership, and community connection flourish, and you’ll really feel that as she speaks in this conversation.
1:42: She is also the owner of Heart Centered Humans.
1:45: She curates immersive experiences that help women reconnect with their truth, their power, and their purpose.
1:50: She also created a business.
1:53: summit called Fempire, which is for wild-hearted female entrepreneurs.
1:58: She blends somatics, altered states of consciousness, energy work, and strategy in order to guide clients to turn their visions and dreams into tangible reality.
2:10: The last thing I want to say is that you’re going to feel her energy.
2:13: The minute that she landed in the room, I was like, wait, 1, I want to give you a hug.
2:17: 2, I want to be friends and can we hang out?
2:20: So enjoy this new episode.
2:22: Hi, how are you?
2:25: Welcome to the show.
2:26: Thank you guys.
2:27: Yeah, thank you so much, Chelsea for being here.
2:30: we’re so excited.
2:31: I just feel like you walked in the room and just dropped in with like a really warm hug, so I just cannot wait for this conversation to get started.
2:38: Yeah, I think something I’m so intrigued and wanted.
2:41: Talk about is your journey from where you started and where you are now.
2:45: I mean you’re doing something that is definitely paving the way there’s not many people doing you know journeys for CEOs and entrepreneurs so can you tell us a little about where you started and what kind of brought you to where you are now before we dive into the different programs and things that you’re doing.
3:03: Yeah, you know, I was sharing before like there’s so many different iterations, but in this realm, like I’ve always been called the plant medicine since a young age.
3:13: I like my great grandfather would like always called me a medicine woman and he like always was teaching me about different plants and like herbs and that healing elements of them and I just was always intrigued and leaning into nature.
3:29: Like I always knew that that was where The best teachers were.
3:34: And when I, you know, I was in high school, I ended up being the drug dealer for the high school, you know, right?
3:42: I was always, I was the bridge between worlds essentially.
3:45: And in that role, you also be kind of become the unofficial guide for people, right?
3:50: You know, everyone’s looking to you for the medicine.
3:52: And then you also become the person like if there’s a difficult experience that somebody is happening.
3:58: They look to me and expect me to have the way and I did.
4:02: I just innately like knew and also You know, started from experience just developing that until like having that role for years and years until I really started to see how sacred it was to be holding a soul through plant medicine experiences and started to really develop and deepen my craft and learn from different, you know, lineages around medicine work all over and just continued to deepen my own practice too and that allowed me to Be the space holder that I am today.
4:39: Yeah, I love that.
4:40: Can you help to find just for the audience a little bit more about what is plant ceremonies?
4:45: What do you mean?
4:47: Yeah, eating plants, having plants, taking plants, smoking plants, doing plants, whatever the plant is, what does that mean and what does that create?
4:56: What kind of experience?
4:58: Yeah, so I mean, obviously there’s so many different kinds of, you know, psychedelic or plant medicine experiences you can have from like cacao, which is, you know, a heart-opening medicine that, you know, we find a lot of chocolate bars but like on its own is like a very, very sacred medicine to work with all the way to psilocybin and DMT and You know, all of the different kinds of things.
5:20: When I’m speaking, I’m mostly referring to psilocybin, so that’s the medicine that I work with and I’m actually a licensed facilitator in the state of Colorado.
5:30: So I’m actually legally allowed to serve psilocybin in the state of Colorado.
5:35: That’s cool.
5:36: Yeah, so that’s happening, new things in the world of, it’s like really exciting to be in a new regulated model around this because obviously going like most of my life.
5:46: Kind of on the like dark underbellies of like I know I’m called to work in this way, but I, you know, it’s, it was legal to now being like, oh, I’m a legal licensed psilocybin facilitator like it’s pretty miraculous and epic and dope.
6:02: We’ve come a long way.
6:03: We’ve come a long way and I love it.
6:04: I want to ask about that journey first, but for just to educate the, the audience like early on, like tell us a little bit about psilocybin.
6:11: Like tell us a little bit about the mushrooms, like what do they do?
6:13: How do they support someone in general.
6:14: and yeah, like what is someone experiencing in their brain or in their body when they take silocybin.
6:20: OK, so first there’s like there’s so many different kinds of, you know, experiences and I’ll just start naming off a few.
6:27: But first thing first is that psilocybin has a way of creating more neuroplasticity in the brain and creating more neural pathways.
6:35: So for like the, you know, the ways that I can use it and with some clients that like CEOs and visionaries, it’s also helping like open up to create.
6:43: activity open up to new pathways of like learning and growing and maybe revealing paths that you never knew before.
6:50: You can also have, you know, a very small dose where you, it’s a sub-perceptual amount that’s normally called a microdose where you’re not even feeling anything specifically.
7:00: It’s almost like as if you took a vitamin C capsule in the morning, but you’re getting all of those benefits of like the neuro neuroplasticity and the new pathways being formed and looking at things differently.
7:11: , all the way to, well, I’ll, I’ll do the second step.
7:14: Then there’s a museum dose and that’s where you’re starting to feel a lot of things.
7:18: You’re not really seeing visuals or anything like that.
7:21: it’s more like you’re feeling a lot and that can be a great space to be processing like maybe any emotional blocks that are coming up with people.
7:30: you know, that’s a great space where a lot of stories and conditioning and behaviors and patterns where you’re maybe like realizing like this is not really aligned with who I am.
7:39: , sometimes in a ceremony around with a museum dose that can be like gently revealed, all the way up to a macrodose which can be, you know, it can be full on visuals.
7:51: Often there’s a lot of feeling in general and, you know, the experience itself is really beautiful.
7:59: There’s You know, different things that can come up from an ego death that can feel like a maybe difficult experience where you actually feel like part of yourself is dying and, you know, death is a little intense.
8:12: So sometimes you’re like, wow, this is a lot and you’re holding that and carrying it like all the way to the last ceremony that I had, like I was just crying.
8:22: , in awe of like and I feel like I felt like I was in a love, a lake of love, and I was like, everything is love, everything is love.
8:29: All I feel is love.
8:30: I just feel like I’m like I, I was even starting to see different areas of my life or maybe people that I had problems with or, you know, family situations and I was just starting to really identify that everything had like the root cause of love.
8:43: Like even, you know, maybe that person’s actions I didn’t like, but they did those things out of love.
8:49: And so like really.
8:50: Like I was just like, oh my God, love, and I also had like a whole moment being like I just love water so much because water is so good.
8:56: I love water.
8:57: I just love water.
8:58: So, anyways, like there’s a lot of different experiences that can happen and even like I take some of my clients of like actual like mapping out strategies for their business and like with that too, it’s kind of like deciphering what actually feels good in my business.
9:14: What I actually want to do, what’s the actual impact I wanna create and, tuning into a whole like a whole different lens in that way.
9:22: So, I mean physically too, like.
9:27: Most experiences are, you’re not really wanting to move around and you run around, you’re just kind of receiving and I’d say my preferred space is being outside out in nature.
9:41: It’s so interesting hearing you speak because like the first thing that comes up for me a little bit is like, and I’ve done psilocybin before too myself, but one of the things the bridges that I had to get over was, well, I’m not using this to get like fucked up.
9:53: Like I’m not using it to like run away like I’m using it to be more intentional with myself or to dive in, because I think with like drugs or anything like that or these like medicines, there is one world that uses them in a different way.
10:05: And then what you’re, it seems like you’re talking about more is like more of the actual ceremony.
10:10: The the connection, the intention of leveraging these plants in a way that feels more intentional, not just like I’m going to, I’m going out and listening to a, I don’t know, a new band and listen to this new DJ and I’m just gonna have fun, have fun, yeah, so what’s the difference in your perspective?
10:28: Yeah, I think that, you know, the difference that I see is like the intention that you go into it with, right?
10:35: And like when you’re saying I want to go inward, it starts immediately with like I’m, I’m gonna say yes to the ceremony.
10:40: Like for instance, with me, it takes like we usually have like a runway of a month or minimum to like 6 months or plus where people are reserving their space to have ceremony with me.
10:51: And so the moment they say yes, they’re already like working with the intention of like I’m leaning in.
10:56: It’s not kind of like a quick decision or like or it’s like the intention to have fun.
11:01: I also don’t want to say like to have fun is a good thing, you know, it’s not, it’s not a bad deal, but it’s just having.
11:07: a different lens of like I want to work with something.
11:09: A lot of people come in like I, I notice I’ve seen this pattern showing up a lot in my life and I want to come sit with the medicine to see if there’s anything that can be revealed to me.
11:18: Because it’s really a collaboration between yourself and spirit and you know, the land and the elements like, you know, that’s also part of ceremony.
11:26: It’s where we’re really creating a sacred space for you to receive the wisdom or to move through whatever energies in which you’re working through at that moment and, vers, you know, so I guess a lot, a lot more preparation and integration is what I see as like a clear indicator for a ceremony versus kind of like I’m just going out, right?
11:47: And I’m hearing you saying it’s a tool too.
11:49: It’s a tool to assist you to go deeper into the layers of yourself versus, yeah, going out and like I’m gonna dance.
11:55: It’s like, oh, I’m gonna go inward and ask myself some deeper questions.
11:59: Yeah, exactly, exactly, and there’s something like so special to Like whether it well, especially if it one on one, like someone is sitting there caring for you or in your, if you’re in a group setting, like everybody is coming in with this intention of like I’m, I’m reverent with to the medicine, I’m reverent to the space, I’m reverent to the land, like I, like, so this, there’s this level of respect and love that people have versus, you know, it might not always be there in other situations.
12:29: That makes so much sense.
12:31: Now I want to go back to your journey a little bit about like coming to like actually welcoming this in your business or however it is and like now being legal because I think this specific topic, like you said, a lot of places, it’s looked as illegal, we should be hiding like we shouldn’t be doing this and I think a lot of the women that listen to the podcast too like sometimes they can feel like I’m the only one doing this.
12:52: That’s like one battle, but like when you’re on the forefront of something.
12:55: And you’re on the forefront of like, this is a new medicine, this is a new way of doing things.
12:59: I want to do this.
13:00: The world hasn’t like adapted yet, but it seems like in Colorado they’re getting, they got there.
13:04: how did you like navigate that in general just as listening to your intuition and trusting that you were being leaded in the way that was for you?
13:13: Yeah.
13:14: So I would say that.
13:18: It was it was until very recently until like the bill passed or even when the bill was like on, on the docket.
13:26: I don’t know what do they call it on the ticket like that’s when I started like being a lot more vocal, but until that point it was very like I had to choose like to be very discerning on who I was going to share like.
13:39: Or invite them into a ceremony space.
13:42: So two things.
13:43: I was hosting a lot of in-person events already in Denver there I was hosting women’s circles and breath work circles.
13:48: And so I was already starting to get attuned to like maybe people who would be more open to that kind of work and that was something that I was inviting people into like when they were like, you know, pun intended in the inner circle with me, right?
14:01: And so that was like that invitation.
14:03: , and I think referrals was the biggest thing because people would have life-changing experiences with me and they’d be like, can I share you with a friend?
14:11: And I was like, yeah, of course.
14:12: And so like that was other ways like in that underground more world that people were finding me.
14:19: And now it’s like I can tell my Uber driver with confidence, like, yeah, this is what I do and it it feels really good.
14:25: Yeah, love that.
14:27: I love that.
14:28: So then how did you, because you work with a lot of CEOs, you work with a lot of entrepreneurs and creatives, how did it, how did it go from like being in high school, working, you know, it’s everybody, and now you’ve kind of like niched it down or you’re specifically helping this type of person.
14:43: Why did you like did that fall into your lap or is that something you actively chose and then what is it?
14:48: That you’re bringing, like, what do you see in that experience that you’re bringing?
14:52: Yeah, well, I do help people all over, but one of my highest excitement is the CEO of the visionary.
14:58: And I think it was because I under, you know, under underwent my own process and like becoming the CEO of my own companies and like outside of just serving ceremonial medicine and so I really just started to I don’t know.
15:14: I guess I was my own ideal client and then so I started helping people like really in the same way as I was helping myself and start like started.
15:22: I keep going like this because I’m like I got, I would get the whiteboard out, you know, and be like, OK, like we’re gonna sit with medicine we’re gonna have intention and it was always a little bit more on the lower side of dosages.
15:33: So just so we can, you know, actually do things because I, you know, in a macrodose it’s sometimes hard to write stuff with your hands and, you know, right, you can’t do anything you can’t get a pen out and write things down and so, yeah, just really start.
15:48: to take people through the same process I was taking myself through and like offer suits or, you know, different things.
15:55: I, I’ve helped product-based businesses.
15:56: I’ve helped like all, all different kinds of businesses just like look outside of the box.
16:01: And sometimes people just come in with like, I just want to have fun and see where that takes me.
16:06: And that really is so beautiful because it kind of surrenders to the process instead of like coming in like that’s part of the preparation.
16:12: It’s like, OK, we need to come in with a little bit.
16:14: , knowing that when we let control go is when like the magic really happens coming in with like a specific desire and then you’re disappointed because you don’t get that exact answer or maybe you receive all the answers because you’re like has to be this.
16:29: And what I’ll say to that too.
16:30: People come in like, I want to find this, this, this, and then they’re like, they’re focusing their entire experience on that.
16:38: And like if you maybe let that, like, you set the intention, you’re like, I want to work on this, you let it go and you don’t think of how it’s gonna get there.
16:45: Like, 99% of the time like the answer comes in this like crazy random way.
16:52: you’re like, oh my God, if these things hadn’t lined up or if this hadn’t happened like it would have like it just kind of like plops into your lap.
16:59: But if you sit there and like it needs to come, it needs to come.
17:01: It’s like you’re looking at the door and you’re like, why, why is it not here?
17:04: Why is it not here?
17:04: Why it’s not here?
17:05: But it’s actually just sitting out the back door like but we just had to look, just look around and kind of be lost in like the energy of it.
17:12: And so that’s kind of you know the.
17:15: What happens often when you’re taking them through these experiences, like I’m like, yeah, I love when I have these sessions, I feel like this happens to me like ovulating and I’m like I wanna go write everything down.
17:24: I get super creative and it’s so much fun.
17:26: But I have this relationship like I’m thinking about like psychedelics in general, like they tend to bring up a lot of emotions too.
17:31: So like when you’re in these sessions with people and you’re having these like incredible brainstorming sessions, are they also processing emotions throughout that process even at such a low dose?
17:42: Yeah.
17:43: , most often, yes.
17:46: I will say, people, especially people who haven’t been doing in the work for quite some time, 100%, yes.
17:54: Sometimes people who have, you know, been doing like the spiritual shadowy work for a lot, like maybe they come more into like the, the emotions of the love frequency if you will.
18:06: And let me say like I, I, there’s I’ve done plenty, but that I, there’s still difficult experiences that I navigate to.
18:13: So I’m not saying that once you’ve reached a certain place that there’s nothing, not gonna be anything there.
18:17: But yeah, I mean, the medicine, that’s what it brings up and I think you can set an intention, but when, but still the medicine delivers what you need at that time.
18:28: So if you are in a season of your life where there’s a story or a pattern or behavior that is not doing you service anymore.
18:36: Psilocybin or whatever medicine you choose is going to be like, hi, you’re here.
18:40: This is the time to let this finally go and that’s why it’s also so incredible to have someone like me or you know, I have a whole like a company called the Send Psychedelics and like any of my incredible facilitators are trained on supporting people through a roller coaster of experiences during one session.
19:02: Cause we’re not the ones guiding it.
19:05: It’s really like, I mean, we’re guiding in the sense of like making sure everything is safe and supporting people and making people feel comfortable enough to go there with themselves, but that’s really, it’s really a relationship between you and that plant medicine because let me tell you, I’ve hidden stuff for myself where I saw, oh this is coming up and I was just like, I’m just gonna pretend that it’s not there.
19:29: But if you have a safe space and you’re like, OK, I, something’s coming up and I’m feeling it, then it’s just there to talk about and process or journal about and or all the different kinds of ways that we can support clients and the untangling.
19:43: Do you have like a story, like a client, a case study that you can share?
19:50: Kind of paint the picture of like they came to you, what they went through and then what they received.
19:56: Hm.
19:57: Let me think.
19:59: Like the one that’s coming to my head is like not quite, I don’t know if it quite, but she keeps coming into my head like a lot right now.
20:06: So I’m for some reason that’s what’s meant to be brought here.
20:10: So I had a client, she came to me for her first assignment experience and then not long after it was like that was the best day of my life.
20:18: I want to have another one with you again.
20:20: And it was about it was like 5 months or so in between.
20:25: And the second experience, she was really came in with the focus of like I want to see how I can, like, what I can apply to my business with all of the kinds of things that, the ideas that she had.
20:38: She’s like, I just want to see what’s the right one.
20:40: She’s being called in a lot of different ways.
20:42: And that experience ended up actually just being a total ego death experience.
20:47: And so for, and that was one of the more intense ones that I held space for and what that looks like is And that experience that she was just laying down and I was right next to her and she’s like, can you hold my hand?
21:00: And she was just crying for about 4 hours of like, I’m dead, I’m dying.
21:04: There’s like I’m not here anymore, there’s nothing and, obviously that’s intense when you’re with it, and then when you’re coming out of it, she was like, wow, I could not have done any of these things if I hadn’t let myself die to like because I was attached to this story and this story and this story and or I was attached to looking and being perceived as this version of myself, but I couldn’t have done that knowing, thinking of that.
21:30: So like when I’m What’s dying are the things that aren’t in alignment with your highest truth, right?
21:36: Because we get so conditioned, we attach ourselves to all these crazy stories and when we have time and space and sometimes the medicine to just reveal them, it’s, it’s reveals, it reveals our true self.
21:51: And so we really can have this opportunity to let everything else it’s just like not real fall away.
21:57: So for her, that was like a really intense like we kind of came in with a total different intention and then it was like, whoa, there’s a lot of ego death happening here, which was so beautiful and she actually left that space feeling so much more confident about where she was gonna like she, I didn’t have, we didn’t say anything about any of the things on the table.
22:17: And when she came out, she was like, this is where we’re going.
22:19: She’s like, this is who I’m, this is where I’m meant to go.
22:22: And it just ended up being very clear for her.
22:26: Yeah.
22:27: We were just talking about this too of like the belief systems we hold on to and how sometimes plant medicine is such a powerful way to get to the root of it so fast, because sometimes it takes a long time to really uncover those deep beliefs that are maybe holding you back or they aren’t, like you said, they’re not serving you a story of belief, it’s not serving you anymore, and yet we can’t even see that it’s operating underneath.
22:49: It’s like so deeply ingrained in us.
22:51: I just laughed because the first time I ever did mushrooms, I did a hero’s dose.
22:55: And I had no idea what I was doing.
22:57: And I’m like, oh yeah, I’ll just eat the, we were in, in Idawa, my husband and I.
23:01: It was the best experience ever, but like I had no idea I’d never done psychedelics, like no idea what to expect.
23:07: and it did like show so much like in that.
23:10: I can’t even imagine with the facilitator, it’s such a different experience because you have someone guiding you.
23:14: through that instead of you navigating it yourself.
23:17: But, yeah, I just think that the power that you can unlock in yourself when you do these type of ceremonies, like we both believe in plant medicine and the power that it holds when you allow yourself to let go of even the limiting beliefs around like, oh, it’s a drug versus it’s literally from the earth.
23:35: It was given to us by Mother Nature as a tool to help us evolve.
23:40: I like personally, my relationship with plant medicine is growing.
23:44: Yeah, I’m trying to get to this place because I’ve noticed like generally like I did this with the other day.
23:48: I was like, wow, it allows me to like slow down my thoughts.
23:50: It allows me to see myself objectively, which I really, really love.
23:54: I definitely am not someone that has like fully gone full force into it and then like, this is what I get to do and I want to do them every single weekend, but I see the gifts that it gives me and so I feel like I’m building this relationship with, with the medicine.
24:06: , and so I also see there’s just so many, so many gifts that people have received.
24:12: I think people are in this world right now, including myself, and other people are just kind of like, wait, what are those?
24:17: What do you mean Planet Airways?
24:18: That sounds great.
24:19: That sounds amazing.
24:20: Like, it doesn’t have to be just mushrooms or psychedelics.
24:23: It could be ayahuasca or buffo, which you’ve done, so like things like that, like those are all, these are all these tools that are here to support us.
24:31: Yeah, definitely and, you know, you bring up a good point.
24:35: Like I, I personally don’t sit with medicine every weekend, and I, I think that there’s always like a too much to like even if you’re, even if you come in with the mindset of like I’m sitting in this with a ceremonial way, it’s also too like too much of anything is.
24:50: I mean there’s people that do ayahuasca 100 times, you know, it’s like you’re missing something maybe possibly because anything can be created to be an escape, right?
24:59: I mean, I.
25:00: , even exercise, like I know there was a season in my life where I was like literally running all the time because I was running away from being with myself.
25:09: And so that’s the same thing can happen in like literally any habit like you can get if you’re getting to like if you’re using something in a way where you’re trying to escape or like look away from what’s actually happening, yeah, yeah, it’s not good too.
25:23: But one of the things that I, that’s got sparked when you were talking.
25:29: It’s because even myself, like I’ve held space for myself.
25:32: I have my husband hold space for me, but having a space held by a like facilitator, I was able to go so much deeper because I felt like, oh my God, I’m like taken care of.
25:45: Like I’m fully like held.
25:47: And that’s like one of the things that I noticed, especially with like CEOs and visionaries like sometimes.
25:53: You like you come in with like this, you know, maybe more creative focus or like maybe more open or like maybe let me, you know, work on this thing with my business.
26:01: But a lot of the stories that come up around being the CEO and being the visionary because there’s so many different like things that conditions and stories that are are just around that like, you know, for instance, there is one that a client had where it was like being successful means that all the people around me are gonna be falling away.
26:20: And so like, you know, just like you’re lonely at the top kind of energy and so really also starting to work with like what are the ways in which your energy is blocking you from being the badass, like, you know, multi-million dollar business owner because you have an energetic block because that’s preventing you from stepping into it or, or literally sometimes like I’ve had a client where she was like that thing we switched and all of a sudden all the money is coming in and she’s like, it was just because she had this limiting belief that if she had money that, you know, X Y Z and was gonna happen when she released that, that it was like the universe was like, boom, all right, now you’re ready.
26:59: Like now you’re ready to not be crippled by that story anymore.
27:04: Can you talk a little bit to some examples or beliefs that a lot of CEOs are holding, but like it’s blocking them to like the next like million.
27:12: Yeah, well, I mean, the one I just mentioned like the, like being lonely at the top.
27:16: I think that was a, that’s a big one.
27:18: , or like people like what it will mean to have a lot of money and like so you know there’s, you know, the fear of having your family members think that they’re you’re gonna have to pay for everything like that’s what will keep a lot of people from even having money because they’re like, I don’t want to pay for everyone.
27:35: I don’t wanna like have the, I don’t want people to see me as a bank account anymore.
27:40: I like I wanna have real conversations and be real human, Let me think of another one.
27:47: You know, there’s trying to think of more general ones instead of specific ones.
27:54: Oh, like competition between like a lot of women owned like, you know, women business founders, like being seen in a certain way or like the competition between other people, especially a lot of people, The couple of people I’m thinking of are like community builders and so they’re like, well, if I keep going, like, will I be able to keep, I guess it’s kind of along the same lines as lonely at the top.
28:19: I guess that’s a, that’s a big one, one.
28:22: The other one that I’m kind of hearing you talk about too is just like competition.
28:25: So like I wonder how much that plays in a role of like, well I have to do my businesses, I don’t know.
28:30: I think about like, for example, having the same businesses and thinking that we have to keep them separate, but what does it look like to collaborate with your competitors?
28:37: Yeah, that might be another way to unlock things.
28:39: Yeah.
28:40: I think that in that too, I’ve seen a lot of like the medicine really reveal like abundance mindset frequency to people where they’re like, oh, it’s not a competition anymore.
28:51: It’s actually like a collaboration.
28:54: It is a collaboration.
28:55: It is an opportunity to lift each other up and like what would it look like to support each other.
28:59: So I feel like those are, and that’s again like total nature way like there’s not like, oh you’re too big tree or like you’re taking, it’s like no there’s enough resources for everyone and So I think that that’s something I see a lot is just that untanglement of the way that society has perpetuated us to be against each other, especially women.
29:21: I will say like the majority of the people I support are women.
29:24: Women, yeah.
29:26: Tell us about Fempire.
29:28: Yeah.
29:29: Oh my goodness.
29:31: well, it’s a live event that I, created and founded and now it’s, we’re about to have our 3rd event here in November, and it’s a business summit for wild female entrepreneurs.
29:44: It’s for women who like want to do business differently, who want to think outside the box, who want to collaborate over compete and it’s in Denver and yeah, it’s It’s I don’t know.
29:57: I’m like, I don’t know what to say.
29:58: It’s awesome.
29:59: It’s incredible.
29:59: I really love it and all the women that get in the room changed, which is so epic and I plan to keep doing it for a very long time.
30:08: Did that idea come to you from doing the medicine from,, I recently had a kid.
30:16: I had a baby and in that process, I was actually not sitting with any medicine like being pregnant and up until recently actually and because he’s 18 months, so yeah, so he’s still a little baby.
30:31: thank you and yeah, I was actually When I was pregnant with him, I just kept thinking like, oh, I just like wanna do something.
30:41: Well, at first it started like I just wanna do an online summit, you know, you see all of those everywhere and you’re like, it’s easy, low risk, also low reward, you know, and I was like, I just want to get people in the room.
30:53: I’ve always been a community builder.
30:55: I’ve always been like so passionate about being in the room with people and so actually I was at Powerhouse Woman last year.
31:06: And I had, I’ve been talking about it back and forth like with, you know, biz bestie of mine.
31:11: And I was like, listen, I’m thinking about doing this like online summit at first, and then I was like, I think I might wanna do it like an in-person thing.
31:18: Like I think that would be great.
31:19: I was already like hosting, co-hosting networking events in Denver for months and so it was like I already had this like kind of built-in community already and Something one of the speakers said, don’t even remember who it was, don’t even remember what they said.
31:35: But I like pulled out my phone and I was like, we’re doing the, I’m oh I said I’m doing this.
31:41: So you’re either in with me or you’re not.
31:44: And she’s like, all right, I’m in.
31:45: And I was like, OK, let’s, I’m gonna start making this happen.
31:48: That was 3 months before our first event for Fempire.
31:52: And so I spent the next month like setting up all the things, only had 2 months promoting it, getting the speakers, all the things, and we ended up selling out the first event which was 70 people and I know which I was like, OK, wow, and we had some really epic speakers coming in too and so that was, it was amazing we had our second one in May and now we’re setting up for our 3rd 1 in November and.
32:20: Yeah, like the thing about vampire is the intention, like I know there’s a lot of epic events out there and a lot of them are kind of like focused centered around the person.
32:30: I don’t really even want that for I, I, I don’t want it to be centered around me and not, not because I don’t think it could be or because I’m like, don’t see myself, I see myself.
32:40: But I actually recently sold Vampire to a nonprofit that I’m the executive director of because I see it going and growing way beyond me and, to being a global experience and to maybe going to different states and to being like a, you know, massive experience and the intention is not for it to be for me, it’s to be for the women that are coming.
33:03: I’ve been changed by going to live events.
33:08: I think they’re so, I now go to live events too, like with the intention of like, not that I’m gonna get everything out of the experience, but that I’ll have one thing, whether it’s like one connection, one conversation.
33:20: Like one spark of an idea and I just want to create that for other people.
33:26: So that’s also Fempire is revolutionary in the way and has helped other live events start to implement this within their, their live events, has masterminding at the very end of the experience.
33:41: Yeah, actually, Lindsay and I end up having a call.
33:44: I like, so I was in six figure school because I was just like I’m just gonna do it.
33:49: It was honestly because she had the giveaway.
33:52: She had the free ticket to come here.
33:54: There’s a free ticket and I, and she had to giveaway for like a whole thing and I was like, you know what, I’m, I, I’m feeling lucky.
34:00: I’m just gonna go for it.
34:03: didn’t get lucky in that way, but I randomly like in the six-figure school it was like fill out this survey and I filled out the survey and I randomly got 11 on one call with Lindsay.
34:14: Which was so trippy because it was a month before Fempire, so I was like this is perfect.
34:18: Like I could totally ask her some questions and that’s and when I shared masterminding with her and she was like, that’s pretty awesome and she implemented it for this year.
34:28: So I was like, that’s, you know, for the impact.
34:32: I was like for anyone out there who’s like, you know, have thinking differently, you have no idea how your ideas and your conversations are going to have a ripple now, you know, many people are going to her masterminding day that she’s creating.
34:45: Which is so epic and the reason why I have the masterminding is because I was going to all these live events.
34:49: I was getting so inspired and so excited and so turned on.
34:52: But I didn’t know how to actually apply it to my unique problems and challenges that I was navigating my business at that moment in time.
34:59: And so that’s why I like we have masterminding experts that come in and help and like every person is getting like, you know, 10 minutes like maybe upwards of that of like what are you navigating, what did you like during this live event, what are you inspired by and actually leaving with action steps because.
35:17: It’s nothing if you don’t actually turn it into something, so yeah, especially if it’s a really good event.
35:23: I went to a David Guilham event and I got came off that immersion.
35:26: I had so much information in my head.
35:28: I told Nick I was like, I need to like go through every single thing over and over again and a lot of these events are like that where you’re gonna get to experience it for the first time this weekend, but like there’s just such great speakers, so many amazing things back to back, who you meet, education, it’s like almost like you’re.
35:45: I don’t know, like, like a waterfall, like the rate in that caught us like you feel like you’re waterfall with information, you’re like, how do I digest this?
35:52: How do I integrate this?
35:53: What are the ones that I really want to because you can even have some of that like freeze effects where you’re like so much information.
35:58: I don’t do anything with it.
36:01: and you know, the other thing in this space, and I felt this incorporate as well is like if you’re going to one conference to another, you’re just Packing on more information but not actually integrating any of it.
36:10: So I think it’s absolutely brilliant that you’re creating that space for people to sign up to say, hey, I created this amazing event.
36:16: Awesome.
36:17: Now let’s actually integrate that on the back end so you have the actual dedicated space.
36:21: I feel like now I dedicate the next day to be self-reflection, to be able to be like, what is for me, what is not for me, what does this actually mean?
36:29: Because if you don’t create that space again it just becomes more information that we’re consuming and you’re not really taking action on at all.
36:35: I love that and I agree like especially in the consumer culture we have like it almost could be like you’re, you know, at this event or you’re sitting at home watching Netflix.
36:44: It’s just like zoned, you’re just zoned out to it versus being leaned in and even like, you know, bringing back the ceremony and the intention, right?
36:52: Like the preparation beforehand, it’s like I’m preparing myself to receive all this information.
36:58: I received the information and now how do we integrate it?
37:00: I implement, I, you know, find the little nuggets that I actually want to work with and I actually take action too because, you know, we can really be indecisive and perfectionism and all the different things that can come up that prevent people from actually doing the thing, so.
37:15: , how do you do that?
37:18: How do you do the thing?
37:19: No, do it, but like for your like in your own process, like I’m so curious for someone that is receiving all this information and they have an idea.
37:28: Well, there, yeah, my advice is.
37:35: I’m like there’s so many different ways but like, but I was, I figure out the best way to do it.
37:40: Figure out the way to do it.
37:43: there will always be like a part of yourself that’s maybe like I have to have all of the things figured out before I take step A.
37:50: Like you just take step A because I guarantee you step B will look different if you take the action versus try to plan out what B will be.
37:58: And so that’s like why I say just do it and it’s like I know it’s hard but you’re like just just figure it out and like maybe just doing it is actually talking about it, right?
38:08: Like let’s say like for for me for empire, right?
38:12: I was like I’m just talking about it for a bit.
38:14: I’m just like ruminating that like in in the having conversations with some of my closer circle like I was able to like be like, OK, yeah, I actually really like this.
38:22: OK, this is like this is happening.
38:24: And then I got, you know, the hit of excitement.
38:27: I was like, OK, I’m, I’m actually doing it.
38:29: And so that action for me was, where’s the location I can host this at?
38:34: Book like I can’t, I tell so many of my clients I’m like book the time slot.
38:37: I’m like, you don’t even have to know what the event is.
38:40: Don’t even have to know what the event is, but just book the, book the place, get the time, you know, get the link up that has like maybe a title and like start talking about it like.
38:50: You don’t have to have everything figured out to move on stuff, especially if it’s feeling like.
38:56: Like, and that’s why I hesitated before, because sometimes you’re like, I get an idea, but I always like to sit with like, is this my intuition and like my higher self speaking to me idea or is this maybe an ego or I need to prove myself idea?
39:09: How do you discern that?
39:11: Well, this, I, I’ll say from OK, strengthening your intuition is how you start to be able to discern things like that.
39:19: Dismantling all of the conditioning and the stories and all those different things that we were talking about, that’s also how you start to not be.
39:25: , moving from an ego place and moving from this is actually a line for me place.
39:31: So I’ll say it’s not an easy like, oh just here’s your, here’s a matrix to go through to make the right decision.
39:38: It’s really like dedicated, like showing up for yourself in the, in the interim.
39:43: So a couple of ways I do that is actually exercising my trust within myself.
39:48: That can look from like, you know, intuitive eating to like driving, like walking down the street, like I’ve done like intuitive walks and then like, OK, where am I literally being guided?
39:57: Like, let me just end up somewhere and let’s see.
40:02: I think also really Really starting to tune into what a yes and a no feels like within your body because we also have this like very conditioned society to, logically think everything out and oftentimes, especially like I have some corporate clients where they’re like, oh, I just like had this weird feeling, but like logically on paper or who my boss was telling me to do, like it didn’t make sense, or it made sense, so I go went ahead with it, but I didn’t listen to my body and then, you know, then I realized a couple of weeks later, months like I actually should have listened to my body because this is what happened.
40:40: We see it all, all the time and, so many different spaces where people get little hits, but they ignore them because we aren’t taught to listen to our body or our feelings and intuition is like a, you know, totally new word for a lot of people.
40:59: Well, not really, but like, you know, in the really understanding what it is, yes, I guess the meaning of it.
41:05: Yeah, I think a lot of people use the word intuition, but you don’t really know what that means.
41:09: Again, you have to come down and discern for yourself because ultimately like your intuition doesn’t look like mine.
41:14: Your intuition doesn’t look like mine either.
41:16: So it’s like how do you find your own intuition?
41:18: Yeah, I mean I actually I have a whole program literally called Whole Body yes and it’s about like tuning into like what is a yes in yourself actually starting to use tools to implement like what what my intuition, how it speaks to me because it also speaks to you in different ways, right?
41:34: Because you, you’re so right.
41:36: We’re all so different.
41:37: And, and the thing about intuition, which I, I will say I think is applicable to everyone.
41:44: Once you, if you get something, if you hear something from your intuition, and it’s usually a very quiet thing, especially unless you’re like one of like you know how my kid is, he’s gonna be super tapped in because I’m always like, what does your body feel like?
41:58: I’m teaching him that.
42:00: But when you’re starting, it’s often very quiet because it’s been suppressed for so long.
42:05: So when we start to hear those little whispers, how we strengthen our intuition is actually acting on it.
42:10: Like think about energetic and like the quantum field, like if you’re giving energy to something, it’s gonna bring energy back to you.
42:16: So if you’re like I’m I’m acting on my intuition.
42:19: I’m leaning in, I’m listening.
42:20: Even the act of like meditating daily, is that right?
42:23: That’s like you saying, hey, intuition, I’m here, I’m listening, I’m attuning myself to listen and it’s not just your intuition, it’s all that also divine, you know, knowledge and all the different things, but I’m holding space to listen.
42:38: And so when you listen and you hear something, if you just ignore it, what’s your intuition and be like, oh yeah, like, let me keep talking to this person who’s gonna ignore me.
42:48: Just like think of your intuition as a person, that person’s gonna be like, What the heck, you’re ignoring me.
42:51: I’m not gonna keep talking.
42:53: Versus if you lean in and you’re like, OK, I’m gonna respond.
42:56: I’m gonna act on the things that you’re saying, it’s gonna keep getting stronger.
43:00: So that’s when people are saying, how do I strengthen it?
43:02: I’m like, well, I know you felt it before.
43:05: Everyone’s felt the nudge, they felt the gut wrench, they felt the, oh, I don’t like that person, but I’m just gonna sit here and like appease them because I’m here.
43:13: And then you realize then you like wasted your whole night or or that they really, really sucked like I don’t even know, but it was, it’s just about like giving it that space and acting on it.
43:26: Yeah, yeah, I love the idea of thinking of it as a person.
43:29: That’s very helpful.
43:30: Yeah, and they give it as objectively too, I think like getting curious, what does this part of me say?
43:35: Let me act on it.
43:35: Let me listen to it, you know.
43:37: People are just so nervous to dive all in because they’re like, what if I make the wrong choice?
43:40: Like, you’ll never make the wrong choice.
43:42: You’ll always be guided.
43:44: Exactly.
43:44: And and I think especially with intuition, it’s like anything that your intuition is telling you like.
43:49: And oh my God, we could go into so many different things.
43:52: But like even if you’re like, oh, my intuition told me this and I didn’t get the opportunity.
43:56: Well, actually, your intuition maybe was guiding you that because the opportunity was not meant for you.
44:00: Like maybe that person or that, you know, situation that, you know, job or whatever was actually gonna take you a whole different direction that was not in your highest path.
44:09: And like you saying like maybe it was a no or maybe it was like a yes.
44:12: To something else like that and it doesn’t make sense quite yet, but it will eventually and so I always think like sometimes your intuition is protecting you from things too.
44:21: It’s not always like a yes, sometimes it is a no.
44:24: We just had a conversation with a friend who is a perfect example of that.
44:27: She was talking about how she was living in New York and she was trying to move to London and the visa, like it just was not happening, was not going through and finally after I think it was like a couple of years or a month, like a pretty significant amount of time.
44:40: She’s like, OK, this door is not opening.
44:42: COVID happened.
44:44: She felt called to move to Denver, to Colorado, and she met her husband.
44:48: And all these things happened.
44:49: That’s like the gist of the conversation.
44:51: But I feel like that’s so often where she was like, yeah, I, I couldn’t understand in the moment why it wasn’t working.
44:57: I wanted to go live in this place so badly.
44:59: And then, you know, fast forward, it all was because she was probably meant to meet her husband and she would have never met him.
45:05: I love that.
45:06: I hear stories like that all the time and I think that it’s so, yeah, that’s why it’s so important to start to trust these little nudges because who knows like and what you were just saying before too, like I feel like I hear that all the time when people are like, I got the intuitive hit, but then I’m like trying to talk myself out of it or like I’m trying to like put it up against what logically makes sense and that’s like.
45:28: Even that happens with mystical experiences, like with psychedelic experiences, like people are like, oh my God, I, you know, this person came to me or I had like a, you know, divine revelation, whatever, and then like their logical brain tries to talk themselves out of it and be like, like, no, no, that couldn’t have happened because it’s not real and it’s like actually.
45:47: You know, we believe in Wi Fi.
45:49: We believe like, you know, all these other things like there is invisible, invisible.
45:53: I’m like there is an unseen realm.
45:55: There is the unknown like there’s multiple dimensions out, you know, out for outside of this one like we’re not the only ones here in this universe.
46:04: Like it’s, there’s more out there.
46:06: And so if you can just trust that and then you’ll reap the rewards of all of the ways that you’re being supported by your guides.
46:14: Yeah, I mean she mentioned I’ve done boo.
46:16: I had like between Boofo and that one hero dose of psychedelics, like those are only psychedelics I’ve ever done, and I’ve microdosed mushrooms a few times and like afterwards, but It was crazy because I had never even heard of Buffo.
46:28: I had no idea what it was and my cousin was like, I think I’m gonna do this experience like it’s a psychedelic, and she’s like, would you want to do it?
46:35: And it was such a big yes in me.
46:38: Like I’ve never felt it.
46:38: I was just like, yes.
46:40: And I didn’t research it.
46:41: I had no idea.
46:43: I went to the ceremony.
46:44: It was a ceremony and I just I literally was like, I died.
46:49: Like I just killed myself.
46:50: What did I do?
46:52: And then I had to release cause I was like, well, like, I’m clearly not coming back.
46:56: So I guess I’m just accepting that I’m dead.
46:59: And it honestly was, it it literally has changed my whole life, my whole perception of life.
47:04: Like I’m so grateful I did it, but it was because of a nudge, and I’m so grateful I didn’t research it either because I probably would have been like, I don’t know if I want to do this, but, I think it is, that is an example in my life personally that my whole reality has shifted because of that one, yes, and I think.
47:20: That the yeses I’ve said in life have gotten me to like such significant places and I feel like it is very evident when it’s like, yes, it’s like a curious yes that sounds great.
47:30: Let’s do it.
47:31: Yeah, I love that so much.
47:32: That’s like that’s a perfect story.
47:35: I haven’t done yet.
47:37: I’m like I thought I’m actually it’s really not for every, I mean, I think just listening to you, I think you could probably hang and handle it, but like I definitely tell people I think it is truly a medicine and even for a heavy dose of mushrooms, it’s a medicine that you need to, I always think you need to be called to it.
47:53: It needs to be a.
47:54: Yes, from within yourself.
47:55: I never try to like convince anybody or anything about it because it’s not, it definitely is not for the, it’s not for everybody.
48:01: It’s not for the faint of heart, but I agree too.
48:05: And that’s the only I’ve always been interested in it and like it’s it’s been in my peripheral peripheral, But another aspect to this whole conversation is I actually never found the facilitator that I felt like that was a yes for me because there’s there’s a yes to the medicine and then there’s a yes to the person that’s gonna facilitate the medicine too.
48:23: And so that was for, I, yeah, I love that.
48:26: Yeah.
48:27: Well, if you ever do it, you’ll have to let us know.
48:29: I know I’m like I can’t wait to talk to you more about this.
48:32: But I mean combo, which is like, you know, sometimes say it’s like Buffo’s cousin, but not really from what I hear.
48:38: But I love, I’ve sat with combo a lot and I think that is a really interesting medicine for all of like, it’s not a psychedelic for anyone.
48:47: So as we start to wrap up the conversation, one question that we ask everyone, so we’re going to tap into your intuition.
48:52: , where do you feel called to be more fully expressed in your life, love or business?
49:00: you know, I am, I feel very fully expressed in most areas of my life, and I think I know the one space I can be is in my, in my family.
49:11: And when I say that like with my parents, I’m pretty expressed there, but there’s, that’s the only place in my life I hold back a little bit still.
49:22: So that would be the space and that’s where all the fun shadows and conditioning and everything can come out too, but that is the space where I can be more fully expressed.
49:41: I love that we can relate to that.
49:41: Yeah, that’s the hardest place to be here like oh did I just that I’m like we literally just had a full, we did a full episode on family dynamics and like how.
49:46: Yeah, it’s one thing to like start finding yourself when you choose the world that you’re choosing like your soul chose family, your parents, your friends, like you’re choosing them, right?
49:54: Like you’re like, I get to be more of me.
49:56: It’s one thing to attract friends as your fullest expression, but how do you take that back to your family?
50:01: Like how do you go back to the dinner table that you grew up in for the last 20 something years and decided that I’m going to be different now.
50:10: I’m gonna show up differently.
50:11: And how do they react to that?
50:12: How do they respond to that?
50:13: And it’s like a whole, a whole thing in itself, so it makes so much sense.
50:16: Yeah, they see every version of you and then I think a lot of times your family holds on to the older versions of you and they have a hard time sometimes seeing the newer parts of yourself.
50:26: Yeah it’s like.
50:27: are also holding that.
50:28: Yeah, totally.
50:29: We’re holding we’re holding that back to ourselves because our that reflection of ourselves is like held within our parents, right?
50:38: We, we tap back into our inner child and our inner teenager and all the things.
50:42: Yeah, and I think like there’s a there’s been a lot that I brought back to my home.
50:48: But being a new parent and then having my parents like having the challenging of parenting different than how my parents parented me, that’s been a whole other level too of like feel like it brings up all of your own stuff that you realize like what they did as parents.
51:06: They didn’t, I mean they were pretty, you know what I mean like I think more than anything it’s not me that it’s like for instance oh man.
51:18: I guess we don’t need to get in for instances, but like I said something to my, I was just actually with my parents like two days ago for a bit and I was like, oh yeah, I do it like I do this like this for this reason.
51:30: And my mom’s like, do you, oh, I, I don’t even remember what it was and she’s like, do you think that we traumatize doing traumatize you by doing that to you?
51:36: I was like, no, I actually don’t even see it through the lens of my own childhood.
51:39: I just see like this is what I want from my own kid and so they see it more through the lens of like.
51:45: I’m being critical of my childhood that they did something wrong.
51:48: Yeah, and I’m like that’s just not what’s happening.
51:51: And so that’s like the way honestly when you were talking about being fully expressed, that’s how I dim myself in that space is to make is to be supportive of their feelings and to be mindful of their feelings, versus like, you know, just telling it how it is, you know, yeah, like.
52:12: One thing that I can all share is like we decided not to circumcise our son and that was like a big conversation around my with my parents because they were like not they grew up in a totally different time like right now it’s like just unless you have religious reasons or like there it’s actually medically not even it’s not recommended and like all of our the pediatricians that came to us they’re like we don’t recommend this like no like and they’re like it’s your choice and so we decided not to and, you know, in that conversation, I was like, yeah, it’s genital mutilation.
52:48: Like I don’t know why.
52:49: You know, I don’t see it.
52:51: Like if it’s not medically like recommended or necessary, then I don’t see why not.
52:56: And my, you know, my mom’s like, do you think I’m a genital mutilator?
52:59: I’m like, I’m not talking about you.
53:01: I’m not saying that to you.
53:03: I’m like, you made decisions with what you had you had exactly.
53:06: And if I was her I would have made that same decision because I would like that’s the knowledge that they had at that moment in time, so.
53:14: But that’s a perfect example of being like, oh, I’m just gonna not, I’m just not gonna share the things because I don’t even want to go down the conversation rabbit hole of what’s right or wrong.
53:25: It doesn’t really matter.
53:26: I’m like this is just how we’re choosing how to parent.
53:29: If anyone’s a parent.
53:30: You know that there’s not a right or wrong.
53:32: It’s just you just find a choice.
53:34: You just decide, OK, I guess we’re gonna go this way and it’s all good.
53:37: Yeah.
53:37: I love that.
53:37: Well, that was a great ending.
53:37: I definitely the part you just said too just like not have to be the right way.
53:49: It’s just a choice, it’s OK.
53:54: but thank you so much for sharing your energy and.
53:56: Love, loved our conversation.
